2017 Fall Education

The Silver City Regional Association of Realtors focused on offering educational opportunities to our members as well as licensees in New Mexico this Fall.

The 2017 NMREC Core class was held in August. This course is required to be taken by everyone holding a New Mexico real estate license every year beginning this year. Michael Glass instructed the class which was attended by 34 licensees. The new Core course is filled with hands-on activities, role playing and information to assist licensees in their business.

In October 25 REALTORS from Silver City and Deming attended the Manufactured Housing Title Processing course. This class was co-sponsored by Grant County Title. This course covered topics such as types of manufactured housing, titling and registering of new and used homes, deactivation process, IBTS search, taxation as real property, forms, and inspections. Scott Florez was the instructor.

Rules and Regulations of the New Mexico Real Estate Commission was taught by NMREC Executive Secretary Wayne Ciddio. This course covered the Rules and Laws that govern NM licensees. The Rules, the Laws, and new changes to both were covered. Class attendees broke into groups to review discussion items, and role played a Broker B case.

The Association and MLS will be continuing to bring courses and training to our members in 2018. We have tentatively scheduled the 2018 Core Course for February and are reaching out to trainers to set up RPR and Paragon training for our members.
