The Silver City Regional Association of REALTORS will be co-sponsoring the 2018 Grant County Candidate Forum to be held on Tuesday, September 18 from 5 to 8 pm.

Candidates hoping to represent Grant County residents in the 6th Judicial District Judge, Grant County Commission, Sheriff and NM State Representative races will be on hand to answer questions at this general election Forum. The sessions will go in order as listed above starting with the judge race and ending with the state representative candidates.

The Silver City Regional Association of REALTORS and the Grant County Prospectors held a Forum in the 2016 election and had a great turn out of around 150-170 attendees. The candidates and attendees were highly complementary of the prior Forum. Western New Mexico University is hosting the location, the Global Resource Center on campus at the corner of 12th and Kentucky Streets. The Silver City Grant County Chamber of Commerce and Silver City Radio are also sponsors. Cookies and water will be served.

"We are pleased to have tentative commitment from all the candidates that they will be at the Forum. Our process is to seek questions from both parties and the sponsors, then distribute them to the candidates prior to the event so that they can prepare succinct and informative answers." states Kim Clark, event coordinator.

In addition to the candidate debates the event will also have volunteers on hand to assist those that need to register to vote, or to update their voter registration records.
