As we move into colder weather, many homeowners in Grant County are already starting to think about winter preparation—especially those who have experienced frozen pipes, roof leaks, or unexpected furnace issues in past years. To support our community and help residents stay ahead of seasonal challenges, Grant County Housing Partners is hosting a free Home Maintenance & Winter Prep Workshop on November 3, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Grant County Business & Conference Center.

This event is designed for homeowners, renters, and landlords, and it’s packed with practical information that can help your clients protect their homes before temperatures drop.

Why REALTORS® Should Share This Event

As trusted advisors, REALTORS® are often the first people clients turn to with questions about homeownership, maintenance, and local resources. Sharing this workshop is an easy way to add value, strengthen relationships, and reinforce your role as a knowledgeable community resource.

Many of the topics covered—fuel safety, insurance gaps, seasonal inspections, basic maintenance, and energy‑efficiency programs—directly support the long‑term success of your buyers, sellers, and property owners. A well‑maintained home benefits everyone involved in a transaction, and this workshop helps residents understand how to prevent costly issues before they occur.

What Your Clients Will Learn

The workshop brings together propane and natural gas providers, home inspectors, insurance representatives, builders, and hardware specialists for a hands‑on, easy‑to‑understand session. Attendees will hear short live presentations on:

  • Weatherstripping and air‑sealing basics

  • Pipe insulation and freeze‑prevention

  • Furnace filter changes and airflow

  • Simple maintenance tasks every homeowner should know

Several presenters will also host demonstration tables where participants can see tools, materials, and repair techniques up close and ask questions directly of local experts. Everyone will leave with a winter prep checklist, a rebate summary, and a shopping list for essential supplies.

A Simple Way to Support Your Clients

We encourage all SCRAR and SCRMLS members to share this event with your sphere—whether through a quick email, a social post, or a mention during conversations with buyers and sellers. It’s a free, practical resource that helps residents stay safe, avoid preventable damage, and feel more confident in maintaining their homes.
