The trend in the MLS industry is for increased standardization, accuracy, efficiency, and widespread access to data across multiple jurisdictions. Data share collaborations broaden access to broker listings and generate a wider audience for these listings. According to WAV Group, having access to data from multiple MLSs is essential for conducting business in today's market, with over 29% of agents belonging to more than one MLS.
The Silver City Regional Multiple Listing Service is focused on meeting the needs of its members and their clients. As a result, in June 2023 SCRMLS enacted sharing permissions through RPR View ™, giving REALTORS® nationwide access to active MLS listing data.
RPR View™ allows REALTORS® the ability to view a number of confidential fields that non-members do not have access to. However, only SCRMLS members have access to the entire range of membership benefits, which include listing input, maintenance, statistical data, cooperation, and compensation.
According to RPR, over one million on-market listings are shared through RPR View™ and over seven hundred thousand off-market listings are shared. Through RPR View™, REALTORS® access a much larger footprint of listings, including on-market properties, valuations, assessments, deeds, foreclosures and mortgage information, as well as historical data.
Silver City joins nearby organizations the San Juan County Board of REALTORS® Inc MLS, Greater Albuquerque AOR/Southwest MLS in New Mexico, and Greater El Paso Association of REALTORS® MLS in Texas in sharing active data through RPR View™.
The primary reason for SCRMLS choosing to share data through RPR is that there are no fees or contracts, and REALTORS® nationwide are already familiar with RPR. We feel this move will benefit real estate professionals who are REALTORS®, our members and consumers alike, bringing efficiency and effectiveness to real estate transactions.
