The Silver City Regional Multiple Listing Service Board of Directors adopted the Delayed Marketing Exempt Listing policy at their July 10, 2025 meeting. An SCRMLS Participants meeting was held on July 8 to get input from members prior to adopting the new policy.
The National Association of REALTORS® Delayed Marketing Exempt Listing (DMEL) policy gives sellers the flexibility to decide, together with their MLS Participant or Listing Broker, how their property will be marketed and sold based on their personal needs and preferences. For example, some sellers may choose to limit market exposure for reasons such as privacy or other personal considerations.
A new listing status in the Silver City Regional Multiple Listing Service, called Delayed Marketing Exempt, gives sellers the option to enter their property into the MLS so it is visible to SCRMLS Participants and Subscribers, while withholding it from being displayed on public websites through IDX data feeds.
The seller will complete a DME disclosure form indicating the date the listing will switch to Active status, at which point it will be syndicated online for broader exposure. This approach helps maximize visibility and attract potential buyers once marketing begins.
The process of updating the new status and delayed marketing end date in the Paragon MLS system is underway, with updates being provided regularly on the MLS homepage and in the MLS newsletter.
With this new MLS status update, SCRMLS members can better support their sellers by offering clear options—delayed marketing for privacy or active listing for full exposure.
