A new rule was adopted by the Silver City Regional Multiple Listing Service Board of Directors on June 24, 2025 to make the SCRMLS Compliance Policy on written buyer agreements, including Buyer Broker Agreements, easier to understand.

To help ensure all transactions follow the rules of the national settlement and are handled fairly and professionally:

  • If a formal complaint is made, the SCRMLS administrator may ask for a copy of any written buyer agreement—such as a Buyer Broker Agreement—just like they can ask for written seller agreements when checking a listing.

  • Subscribers must send the requested document within 1 business day.

New SCRMLS Rule Effective June 24, 2025

Section 5.0.3 Compliance with Rules on Written Agreements The Service shall have the authority to request any written agreement from its Participants and Subscribers upon receiving a formal complaint. Participants must furnish the requested documents within 1 business day, allowing The Service time to assess the validity of the complaint and take any necessary corrective actions. The Service may conduct a review to verify adherence to applicable rules and ethical guidelines. This policy reinforces the integrity of the marketplace and ensures that all transactions align with the professional practices and regulatory requirements.
