Beginning October 3, 2015 the closing process will change nationwide. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has set up a consumer website www.consumerfinance.gov/owning-a-home to help buyers "know before they owe". The Truth in Lending Act (TRID) will merge several forms into two new closing forms: a Loan Estimate and a Closing Disclosure. The Owning a Home website includes tools for consumers such as tools to explore interest rates, a monthly payment worksheet, a loan estimate explainer, a closing checklist, a guide to closing forms and much more.

"We're here to help you with buying and financing your home. Learn what to expect and what questions to ask, and get tools and resources to help you make decisions." CFPB
